SGO Health Policy and Socioeconomic Committee: Current and future efforts of the Future of Physician Payment Reform Taskforce and the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Taskforce.

The 2016 Annual Meeting on Women's Cancer® in San Diego, CA highlighted very important health policy and socioeconomic issues affecting SGO members. During the annual Member Forum on Monday, March 21, 2016, attendees were informed of the activites and goals of four special SGO Taskforces: Coding and Reimbursement, The Future of Physician Payment Reform, Legislative and Regulatory Affairs, and Policy, Quality and Outcomes. Oversight and direction for these Taskforces is provided by the SGO Health Policy and Socioeconomic Issues Committee (HPSE), populated by the SGO Executive Committee and chaired by the SGO President-Elect II. These four Taskforces, comprised of over 100 SGO members, are working tirelessly to address key issues facing gynecologic oncology practices. The Future of Physican Payment Reform Taskforce and the Legislative and Regulatory Affairs Taskforce have provided a succinct summary of their activities below. The remaining two Taskforces, Coding and Reimbursement and Policy, Quality and Outcomes will provide a summary of their specific activies in the August edition of Gynecologic Oncology.
